Robert “Guy” Whigham
Robert “Guy” Whigham was born in Britain and moved to Italy as a small boy where he met an elderly hunchbacked Italian woman who was the queen of foraging porcinis. Motivated by the village baker (who would trade bread smeared with melted chocolate for Guy's porcinis), he became a master of foraging by the age of eight.
Guy is one of the most skilled foragers in North America, a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. His extensive understanding of the topography and microclimates of the Pacific Northwest and his bloodhound-like skill at searching out patches of wild mushrooms have made him an invaluable partner with Foods In Season.
